Forked River Fire Department would like to advise all residents who have aPrivate Fire Alarm Monitoring service that they inform their service that they must call the Ocean County Sheriff's Department Dispatch Center when reporting a Fire or Fire Alarm The Phone # is 1-732-349-9100. Ocean County Sheriff's Department is the Primary Dispatch for the 3 Fire Companies of Lacey Township.

The Forked River Fire Company is located on Oak & Parker Street in Forked River with our substation located on Joffre Road.  The fire company is an all volunteer organization and our volunteers receive no payment for services to the Township of Lacey.

Dedication:  Our memorial stone is located at the front of the building listing all our past members of The Forked River Fire Company The Gazebo - Picnic area is dedicated to Firefighter Charles "Brocky" Brocklebank Jr. Pumper 6031 is dedicated to Firefighter Evan Newman. The Great Eastern Tanker Truck 6008 is dedicated to Firefighter Donald Wallis.

Fire Prevention: The Forked River Fire Company's annual fire prevention day is the last Saturday in September this is held in conjunction with the Lacey School House Museum Apple Festival, we also visit the Forked River School during fire prevention week in October. (please visit the Fire Prevention site for Important information and safety tips.)

History: The Fire Company was organized in 1928 by a group of people who were willing to donate their time and talent for the greater good of Lacey Township, our first headquarters was located on station road in an old lodge building the fire trucks used during that time period were a 1928 Hahn Pumper & a 1926 Reo Speed Wagon Hose Cart.

Requests for assistance: In 2008 the Forked River Fire Company responded to over 480 requests for assistance to the people in Lacey Township. The Fire Company donated 11,000 hours of service time including training, work details and monthly equipment maintenance.

  • 1939 Forest Fire, over 30,000 acres burned from the Pinelands to the Bay 
  • 1962 Forest Fire, over 15,000 acres burned
  • 1965 Greyhound Hotel fire
  • 1976 Plane crashed into the Methodist Church
  • 1982 Garden State Parkway Service Area fire
  • 1988 Garden State Parkway helicopter crash
  • 1992 Forest Fire, over 10,000 acres burned
  • 1992 Forked River House Restaurant fire
  • 1995 Forest Fire, over 20,000 acres burned
