Public Works

The Department of Public Works is a full service, front-line, operational Department consisting of many divisions.  Our focus is to provide services in infrastructure and maintenance geared to the safety and comfort of the residents living within our community.   We maintain all Public Buildings, Park Facilities, and Roadways, as well as administer the Recycling and Solid Waste Contracts.  A typical day at Public Works can include an assortment of activities which will vary depending upon the season we are currently in.  We are responsible for storm drain cleaning and maintenance, grass cutting and tree trimming within our Park system and Township owned Right-of-Ways, road repair and maintenance, street sweeping, paving, pot hole patching, snow plowing, curbside leaf collection, the Clean Communities Program, vehicle and equipment maintenance and repair, street sign and directional sign installation and repair, Township owned bulkhead repair, the Recycling Center and Leaf Compost Facility, the Municipal Dock and Truck Parking on our premises.  The Public Works Department is also on call in the event an emergency situation arises and will respond accordingly.

The Recycling Center is closed on all holidays that the Municipal Building is closed.  Please review the calendar for the Recycling and Solid Waste Schedule, easily accessible from the website, or if you have a specific question, please contact Public Works or the Contractor, Meadowbrook Industries, at 609-971-7979.

Public Works is a Department that works year-round encompassing Projects and Services that are vital to the community in which we serve.
